Practicing professional counseling and trauma response since 1997, Jonathan brings a wealth of experience and specialized telehealth training to his work. He spent nearly ten years exclusively providing telephone counseling, management consultation, and trauma services to international Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies. Soon after starting this teletherapy job, he began his private practice in Austin, Tx.
Jonathan recognized the effectiveness of teletherapy, particularly for busy executives, and maintained this service in his own practice. Since then, he has been sought after by C-level executives (CEO, CFO, CTO, etc.), professional athletes, and celebrities of all stripes.
While Jonathan’s services are professional and guided by empirical evidence, his presentation is comfortable and casual. Clients describe him as compassionate, direct, and honest. This means that he will do more than simply ask how you feel. Jonathan will challenge you to engage in self-reflection and learn how to adapt to life’s challenges. When he has suggestions, he will tell you rather than watching you ‘spin your wheels.’
Jonathan graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with his Bachelor’s degree in 1994, then attended the prestigious University of Minnesota, Twin Cities for his Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology in 1997.
Buddy is a trained therapy animal and is as smart as he looks! Although even with those ears, he pretends to not hear me.
He’s played guitar since 9th grade and has performed lead and rhythm guitar in blues-rock based bands. He has a great time running around the park with his dog, a 10-year old Lab/Basenji mix named Buddy.
Learning about the intersection of neuroscience, philosophy, and psychology is something Jonathan continues to study. Give him a telescope, his dog, and the beach, and he’s in his zone!
